Portugal were held to a stunning 1-1 draw by DR Congo in their Group K opener at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. Cristiano Ronaldo, in what is likely his final World Cup, could not find the breakthrough as a DR Congo side — led by Arsenal's Yoane Wissa — earned a historic point. Wissa's goal for the Leopards was celebrated as one of the moments of the tournament so far, as the Central Africans showed the world they are no pushovers. Portugal had the majority of possession and chances but could not break down a disciplined and dangerous DR Congo defence. It was not the start Ronaldo or coach Roberto Martínez had hoped for, and they will need to improve significantly against Uzbekistan.
